Dinosaur Files

Why is it that dinosaurs always die running?

Why is it that dinosaurs always die running? And after they die, do they keep on running?(my friend asked this question by the way. No idea what she is talking about)

  1. Your friend is simply mistaken. Many dinosaur fossils are found where the animal died in a curled up position. They've ounf dinosaur egg fossils, and they obviously couldn't have been running at all. http://www.paleoportal.org/index.php?globalnav=fossil_gallery§ionnav=detail&submission_id=753&taxon_id=134&state_id=&period_id=&assemblage_id=&last_section=search
  2. how does she know that we have never seen one die and when they die they fall over and maybe get covered in lava or mud and we find the shape millions of years later ,or the bones ,dead bodies when dead bloat ,and so spread all the limbs so the bones we find are also spread , but if they were running is any bodies guess
  3. how they can run if they are dead....is your friend 7?
  4. Probably like almost all feral animals, including reptiles, they were very alert to their environment. Where every sound and odor could be another animal on the prowl for the next meal, running is a primary defense action. Dead is dead. Life is not like the road runner/Wiley coyote confrontations
  5. I think the question is probably a joke but, I can't resist using it as an excuse to point you to an article posted by the American Museum of Natural History in New York entitled: FIRST EVER FOSSIL OF SLEEPING DINOSAUR FOUND IN CHINA, with a drawing of the sweetest bird-like creature snoozing away!. http://www.amnh.org/science/papers/sleeping.php http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/10/1013_041013_sleepy_dino.html
  6. cuz thats how they wanted to die!
  7. They are trying to dodge all of the falling meteors, so that they won't become extinct.
  8. That is not true, unless she had a time machine to go back and watch a dinosaur die, I don't see how she would know. Also there are dinosaurs that died in tar pits, and they couldn't be running. ***
