Dinosaur Files

Dinosaurs...?

Ok, we have proof of the exsitence of dinosaurs from their fossils and bones. So, where in the Bible do they come in?

Public Comments

  1. Dinosaurs kick Bible ass! RROAAR!!
  2. They don't exist in the bible.
  3. really so the proof is the bones right? have you ever dug one up yourself? Or for that matter were you alive when dinosaurs roamed the earth......how do you really know they were here, by bones?
  4. The age before ours. Have you never seen the Flintstones?
  5. Day 6.
  6. Book of Job. REad the last 5 chapters (I'm too lazy to look it up rigght now, I have answered this same question several times in the past couple of months).
  7. book of job ch. 40-42
  8. I asked this yesterday Behemoth (and Leviathan for that matter) All of the basic “kinds” of living creatures were brought into existence in the same initial creation week. Moses wrote: ”. . . in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is . . .” (Ex. 20:11). This would include the dinosaurs (“terrible lizards”), and man as well.
  9. They don't come into the Bible. The writers of the Bible knew nothing about dinosaurs so they didn't mention them. Neither do they mention all the other millions of species that are now extinct.
  10. Dinosaurs are real, the bible is just a story.
  11. They dont exist in the bible since they were not discovered back then. Its a good thing though, becuase we would have a 1000 more pages on this plague/book saying that the dinosaurs were beasts that ate the sinners or something similar.
  12. often the bible uses figurative language, like "day" can refer to one literal day or thousands of years, so the 6 creative "days" have to be longer than a literal 24 hour period since science proves that this world is very very old. and since God created all things, he created dinosaurs as well and where roaming the earth at that time.
  13. They're not mentioned in the Bible. And they are not the behemoths talked about in Job.
  14. God created then like everything else. In Texas they have found human footprints and Dino footprints side by side. Noah's ark had enough room for them. I guess the cold climate on Mt Arat was too much for them and they didn't make it.
  15. Hey they are there you just are not seeing them. God created them in the beginning. In an idylic setting as the first world was allowed for certain species to grow to phenomenal size and variety of shapes - when the flood came they perished except for the pairs that went aboard the ark, but due to the conditions that were after the flood did not support such lifestyle so eventually they perished out and became extinct. As you have heard the bible does describe two dinosaurs a land dinosaur possibly a brontosaurus and a sea dinosaur possible a plesiosaur.
  16. The Bible does not name all the animals on earth, however they (dinosaurs) are called Leviathans. No animal today would qualify beside maybe whales
  17. Everything God made is not in the Bible. The Bible is the history and the geneology of Adam to Jesus, and the history of the Jews through whom Jesus was born. The Old Testament follows Adam through king David and his descendants. The New Testament follows Jesus through the apostles and the church. grace2u
  18. Thet dont and they dont have to. the bible is a history of man. theres no dinosaurs and theres no chronicles of narnia. relax. it tells of the creation of earth and its initial light, then the creation of animals, who were put under man's dominion. So there were dinos before man, who cares? they make for good movies.
  19. First, I already know the thumbs down that I'll get for this, but it's historically accurate. Look at my 360 profile and you'll see where I studied. I lived in eastern Arkansas then (plenty of mosquitoes & farms). Genesis, which contains the Adam & Eve story, was written when the Hebrew people were once again held in slavery by the Babylonians (757 BC). They lived through what they called the diaspora. The book tells of their creation by God and their intended purpose, which they forsook to follow their own disobedient ways and the resulting dismissal from the promised land by their capture and enslavement by a pagan country. But the story also speaks of their hope and utlitmate deliverance from the oppression of slavery and sin, and being reunited in deliverance back into the promised land. Thus, the story was never intended to be taken literally, but rather to contradict the Babylonians story of faith (Epic of Gilgamesh) and to demonstrate that there is one God andnot many pagan gods. Thus, it was never intended to present a literal story about dinosaurs or other animals. Unfortunately, we live in a literal society that interprets scripture through our culture, which differs greatly from the near-eastern culture in which it was written. Just look at modern-day Iraq and our lack of understanding!!!! I hope this is helpful to you.
  20. The bible is a metaphor for the truth of life. It’s a good book. It is the good book. But it’s not a newspaper. No dinosaurs in the bible baby. Although I know some of you out there are tempted to use the great flood of Noah to excuse your apologetics, I know you cant find anything definitive in there.
  21. >"In Texas they have found human footprints and Dino footprints side by side" No, they haven't. You're either lying, mistaken, or purposely misleading. Perhaps you've been mislead yourself. Please cite a reference.
  22. Job 40.... look up Leviathan and Behemoth.
  23. Well...... I don't know if you try to fool yourself by intention or by mistake. We have bones and fossils as a proof of dinosaurs..... but you voluntarily blind yourself and you cannot see the "fossils" who try to pass bible as "truth". The "dinosaurs still EXIST..... and they Do not come In the bible. They DO come WITH the bible.
  24. I believe they are mentioned in the book of Job.
  25. They don't 'come in' in the Bible. The writers of the Bible were oblivious to the expanses of time that occured before their births - and so they couldn't have included dinosaurs in their texts. Alright - I don't know whether to pity the people who claim that dinosaurs and humans existed together or to get extremely angry with them.... This is the year two thousand freaking seven and some people actually still believe that dinos and humans coexisted. Some people still claim that dinosaur bones are hoaxes!! This is quite sad. I'm an aspiring paleontologist and I've seen bones unearthed from the ground. It's not some mass conspiracy - we have fragmentary dino DNA, proof of living tissue... -Sigh- People, wake up and smell the coffee and go to college, please!
