Is the velociraptor the smartest dinosaur during its time?

me and my friends had a 2 hour arguement about this, basing it on no facts other then the movie Jurassic Park

1. I don't know about the smartest but I doubt it. Jurassic park was a great movie but very inaccurate, Contrary to the movie a Velocaraptor was only about 3 or 4 feet tall, and as you remember from the movie they were portrayed as being about 6 feet tall. so I'm sure the intelligent thing was beefed up too, but you never know I suppose they could have been.
2. Unfortunately, Jurassic Park would possibly be the only point of reference for the perceived or alleged intelligence of the 'Raptor. Details of the behavioural characteristics of "raptors" and dinosaurs in general are based upon scientific research gleaned from the fossilised remains of these animals and their probable habitats. Unless you get hold of Dr. Who's Tardis and travel back 65 million years or so and observe some of them, I'm afraid you and your friend may not find the solution to your question.
3. Considering there were no people around when they were alive it's hard to say. They would have to be studied to see their behaviors. Jurassic Park was a movie dude. It was made for entertainment not a factual study.
