BARNEY (The Purple Dinasour) FOR PRSIDENT?
Teach kids at a young age to respect others "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" It worked for us. We never need metal detectors. You'd be surprised as to how many younger people never even heard of this concept. They may have been the ones raised on the "Building Confidence" parenting campaign in the mid 80s. Where they were rewarded for the littlest and even unfinished tasks. Being never criticized or even guided to try a little bit harder next time.. they became conceited and when having to deal with the real world, reality was quite a heavy blow. Then the "Barney" (the dinosaur) came into the picture. About 1990. Teaching kids about several things, but most important to me was about compassion and the feelings of others. As the beloved "Barney" era started to fade. so did the kids values. If you take notice, kids roughly between the ages of 10 - 14or 15 years of age are a very special group mi- kids will be kids but these kids have a concients and can easily be reminded

- I've run across some really mean 12 - 15 year olds. I hate Barney. I would root for his assassination! edit to add: Are you kidding? Have you spent much time with kids today? They grow up way faster than I did, they know about sex and other subjects more than I did - I still thought kissing a guy was gross when I was 12. Now they think it is something they must achieve or they will be classified as a loser. I knew what respect was and kids today think they are being punished if they have to say yes ma'am or no sir. Barney hasn't done much to teach kids compassion and feelings for others. When I was is school we did not shoot each other. If someone made fun of you you told your older siblings and they handled it for you but never did we think about taking a gun to school and shooting up our schools. This started happening during your Barney era - besides, I don't know any 10 -15 y/o that would of watched Barney.
- Better make sure the guy in the suit was born in the states.
