California Museums?
My daughter is really liking natural history right now and I am wanting to take her to a museum during her summer vacation. I have not been to one since I was a child. I don't care the distance but can you please tell me which are really good ones? Especially if they have dinosaurs on display, she really really loves them. Thanks for your help

- There are several museums and attractions spaced very close together in Los Angeles, right near USC. Here's a good link: http://www.nhm.org/expo/expopark.htm
- LA has a cool place called the La Brea Tarpits...All about dinosaurs and their demise, very awesome place. their website is http://www.tarpits.org New Mexico also has a great Natural History Museum with dinosaurs on display. Their website is http://www.nmnaturalhistory.org Montana has a museum with a T Rex called Museum of the Rockies. http:///www.museumoftherockies.org
- There are a few really good dinosaur museums in California, and here's the ones that I can think of right now - The Los Angeles County Natural History Museum http://www.nhm.org/ This one has a wide range of exhibits, with quite a few mounted dinosaur skeletons and some fleshed-out dinosaurs, too, not to mention the big T.rex vs. Triceratops statue outside. And the University of California Museum of Paleontology at Berkeley. http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/ Not really much of a dinosaur museum in the traditional sense, but it does have a fantastic Tyrannosaurus skeleton, as well as a skeleton of a Pteranodon, a Triceratops skull, and a number of other smaller displays. The UCMP is usually not open to the public, but will be having an 'open house' of sorts on Saturday, April 21st. You can read about it on the site. Hope this helped.
